Jan Molby: Why Chelsea defeat isn’t good news for Liverpool
By The Sport Review staff
Jan Molby has admitted that he is unsure whether Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-0 win against Chelsea is necessarily good news for Liverpool.
The Merseyside outfit are in second place in the Premier
League table and five points behind leaders Chelsea after Antonio
Conte’s men suffered their first defeat since September after a 13-game
winning run.
Dele Alli scored either side of half-time to end Chelsea’s
100 per cent record since a 3-0 loss at Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium
in their sixth game of the 2016-17 Premier League season.
Tottenham have won their last five top-flight fixtures to
hoist Mauricio Pochettino’s men up to third place in the Premier League
table and two points adrift of second-placed Liverpool.
Manchester United, meanwhile, have won six Premier League
games on the spin to move the Red Devils to within a point of
fourth-placed Manchester City ahead of the visit of Liverpool on Sunday
15 January.
