Eminem drops new track 'Campaign Speech,' takes aim at Donald Trump
Noting that he's still at work on his next album, Eminem released a razor-edged rhyming tirade Wednesday that includes a swipe at Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
His
brief Trump verse comes midway through the nearly eight-minute piece,
with Eminem calling the candidate "a loose cannon" and saying "you
should be afraid of this dang candidate." The rapper goes on to ponder,
"If I was president..." with a list of graphic campaign promises.
With
no accompaniment but synth sound effects, Campaign Speech amounts to a
spoken-word broadside, layered with pop culture references both current
(Colin Kaepernick) and old-school (Chuck Norris).
Aside from the Trump verse, Eminem also cites hot-button headlines ranging from George Zimmerman to Dylann Roof.
